Moorey’s Health Store was established in 1932, by Captain Nixon Moorey, in Blackburn, Lancashire. Upon his retirement his sons took over the business, with Walter becoming a well known and respected herbalist. Walter ran the store until the 1988 when his lifelong friend, Marjorie, took the reins.
Shortly after this her nephew, Wayne, joined the business and a venture to expand and develop the store began.
1998 We bought ‘Health & Pure Foods’ in Preston market.
1998 We opened our on-line store, www.vits4you.com, one of the first in the industry.
1999 Wayne wins Customer service Award.
2000 Wayne published a series of self help guides, which were available in hundreds of stores and four different countries.
2002 We develop and launch our own label supplement range.
2004 Wayne wins National Nutritional Knowledge Award.
2005 We opened a branch in Rawtenstall.
2007 The Blackburn branch was doubled in size.
2012 We moved the Blackburn branch to the main shopping centre, as part of the award winning Blackburn Market.
2012 Moorey’s Health Store has its 80th birthday.
2014 We give our own label range a new easy to read look.
2015 Our web site, www.vits4you.com, is re-launched.
2017 We move to larger premises on Blackburn high street. 46 CHURCH ST. 01254 433363
2019 We bought Beau’s Kitchen in Skipton, a 35 year old health store and vegetarian cafe. We launch our new cafe name of ‘The Leaf & Bean’. 10 High St. 01756 790619

2022 We buy CHORLEY HEALTH FOODS. 18 New Market St. 01257 276146
2024 We increase the range of products available on vits4you.com to over 3000
2025 Due to HUGE tax increases we have to close the cafe. Thank-you for your support over the years.
We try to deal with as many UK family firms as possible. Our products are carefully selected using our own stringent criteria. Our aim is to sell true quality ranges, without cheap fillers, cheap actives, synthetic vitamins, heat damaged oils, etc, etc.
